Assistant and Patient Manager

Betty has been a dental assistant for over 40 years, more than half of which has been with this practice. Betty is the “jack-of-all-trades” of the practice. She contributes to all aspects of the daily success of the practice. In addition to her skills as a dental assistant, Betty is also responsible for arranging appointments, managing insurance and billing, ordering supplies and making our patients feel comfortable and at ease.

Betty was born and raised in Winfield Park where she still resides. She is the proud mother of Kaitlin who recently became an RN at JFK Hospital and has been dating Steve, a retired NYC Policeman for many years. She has a large family and enjoys spending time with all of them. Betty is an avid reader and is never without a book in hand. She also enjoys attending concerts, antiquing, seashell hunting and relaxing with her toes in the sands of Myrtle Beach. Need a recommendation for a new book to read? Ask Betty. She is the office’s go-to source for all things books! What Betty loves most about her job is seeing “old friends” (patients) and having the opportunity to make new friends every day. She considers her co-workers as a second family and is looking forward to a bright future with our expanding practice.

Maria has been a hygienist with Dr. Martino for almost 20 years. She has been in the dental field for over 30 years. Helping patients to maintain their gum health and to understand the role of healthy gums in overall health is very important to her. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY but has raised her family in NJ. Maria and her husband Tom have two sons, Matt and Chris and a grandson named Tommy. Maria loves dogs, especially her pet KiKi. On her free time, Maria enjoys reading, exercising and most of all, playing with her grandson. Maria cherishes the relationships that she has formed over time with her patients and cares for them very deeply.

Laura has also been working for Dr. Martino for almost 20 years and has been a full time dental hygienist for 36 years. Laura is married and the proud mother of two. She grew up in Carteret. Laura is an avid reader and loves to exercise. Spending time at the beach is one of Laura’s favorite things to do and looks forward to the summer every year. Laura’s pride and joy is her grandson Benjamin. Laura cherishes the relationships that she has established with her patients over the years. She loves helping her co-workers and considers them all friends. Laura is a very compassionate hygienist and is dedicated to helping her patients overcome any fears of dentistry that they may have. Her commitment to promoting oral health is what makes so many patients request Laura as their hygienist.

Lynn has been a hygienist with Dr. Martino for several years. She has been practicing dental hygiene for her entire career and loves helping all of her patients…from the smiling faces of children to those with more advanced gum (periodontal) problems. Educating her patients is very important to Lynn and she will take the extra time needed to help them to keep their smile healthy.

Lynn has raised two children in Cranford and is now enjoying life as an “empty nester” with her husband. She loves to travel but never to the same place twice! In her free time, Lynn also loves gardening, decorating, and cooking (& eating too!). She is always interested in learning and staying educated on all of the latest advances and trends in dental hygiene. Lynn says that if she won a million dollars, she would go back to school! She has been a wonderful addition to our team and has quickly become an integral part of our office family.

She has an excellent rapport with patients and also speaks fluent Spanish. She lives with her parents and sister in Clark, where she has been a lifelong resident. Jennifer recently got engaged in Disney World to her fiancé Gus.

Jennifer loves animals and has visited sanctuaries where she was able to pet and play with monkeys, tigers and wolves, oh my! In her spare time, she also enjoys baking and decorating cake pops, shopping, and travelling. Her favorite vacation spots are Disney World and the Dominican Republic. She hopes to visit Africa one day. Her long-term goals include working with special needs children.
